What Can Be Conculded of These Three Theories and The Thesis Statement?
These three theories each help to explain why people have different beliefs and different motives that create these beliefs when it comes to their stance on the Bathroom Bill. These theories each help to explain in their own way, the many thoughts and motivations that each individual has that form their beliefs. Durkheim helps to explain that society and what the greater population of that society believes, will help to create the belief that everyone will follow, whether that be yes bathroom bill or no bathroom bill depends. Verstehen helps to explain the many motivating factors that people use in order to formulate a decision on the Bathroom Bill. The critical gender theory helps to explain how those who hold power will help to influence people's view of the bill. These theories thereby help to prove the thesis correct, because each of these theories helps to explain and show the many factors that influence a person's religion and their beliefs, which after understanding these factors can be said they do influence a person's stance on the bill. Looking at the three media articles used, the topic of them is the people's beliefs to not enact the Bathroom Bill. The Maine basketball team shows how a group with power, instead of cancelling their basketball games, uses their power to send a message to others that they do not believe this bill should have been signed into law. They are trying to create and spread an influence to people about what they believe, and they are using their power to wear rainbow shirts and show that gender is something more than biology. The second article, shows how business men are using their thoughts and ideas about what they think will happen to the economy in the future to state that the Bathroom Bill is a bad thing.
